This is a website and online shop for Leka, a local business that designs, sews, and sells clothing all under one roof. The site is built on WordPress and WooCommerce with a custom child-theme. I designed the wordmark and photographed the shop and studio areas to showcase the unique business model that Leka has to offer.

This is a beautifully designed portfolio site by and for LA-based firm FaustLevito. The build side of this project was a collaboration with Alanna Scott who contributed JavaScript animations and interactions, and PHP-based custom page templates, while I contributed HTML and CSS with a custom child-theme on WordPress.

This landing page features a spacey perspective shift (based on this code snippet) which enhances the magical environment depicted in the beautiful background illustrations. Since the page relies on multiple and full-width background images, I used srcset to ensure the correct file was loaded depending on the screen resolution of the user. I also incorporated a timed fade-in on load so that content is faded in after the images load.

This site shows the work of Toronto-based writer, Tamara Faith Berger. In order to facilitate a user friendly process for adding new posts to the News section, Squarespace was chosen due to its intuitive and pared down backend. I used markup blocks with HTML and CSS to customize the look of the site. An electric yellow was used as an accent throughout the site and it works well in opposition to the stark white background and black text.

Arianna at Victory Hair Studio in Greenwood, Seattle, wanted to re-fresh her existing site. By working with the existing WordPress template and adding CSS customizations, I was able to update the site both functionally and aesthetically within a manageable budget. One of the most noticeable improvements was the integration of the booking software to merge seamlessly with the site, using a JavaScript embedded widget and custom CSS. Kudos to Arianna for acquiring excellent new photography from Elizabeth Zuluaga which adds so much to the final product.

This WordPress site replaced a dated Wix template in order to improve mobile accessibility and overall design. I built a child-theme to customize the design and layout of the site while still making use of the robust framework that the WordPress Twenty Seventeen theme offers. We incorporated a footer with open hours and an interactive, embedded Google Map as well as prominent call and email links throughout the site to ensure clients can quickly and easily get in touch with the clinic.

This portfolio site shows the work of Victoria, BC, based artist, Robert Fisher. It was built with HTML, CSS and a JavaScript lightbox for each portfolio image. I also implemented a JavaScript fade-in for all of the images on the site in order to contribute to a smooth user experience and avoid awkward image loading - for the portfolio page in particular. I personally love these sculptures, and the site was a pleasure to work on.
